Hollyland Wireless Tally System Reviews

Hollyland Wireless Tally Review: Loot Worth Keeping

The Hollyland Wireless Tally system is an absolute breeze to get running with vMix, and if you've ever wrestled with Cuebi, you know exactly how rare that sentence is. Cuebi setup is the kind of experience that makes you question your career choices and consider a quieter life farming turnips. By comparison, plugging in the Hollyland is basically a tutorial level. Practically a cutscene. One thing, though. This is your mandatory trap-avoidance tip from someone who has already fallen into the spike pit so you don't have to: plug the base unit into your primary network switch. Not a secondary one. Not "the switch that's kind of close to it." The primary one. Do this and you get an instant connection. Skip this step and you'll spend 20 minutes doing the thousand-yard stare at a blinking light, questioning whether the universe is fundamentally broken or if it's just you. It's not the universe. It's the switch. Battery life on the Hollyland is excellent. Like, suspiciously excellent. The kind that makes you check the specs twice because you're convinced there's a catch. There isn't. These will comfortably survive a full shooting day without you ever thinking about them, which is honestly the dream. The best gear is the gear you forget is there. That said, if you're running a marathon session, the kind where craft services has cycled through three full meals and you've lost all concept of time, you can keep them juiced via USB-C and run them continuously. They become, at that point, essentially immortal. Unkillable. The cockroach of camera wireless systems. And that's a compliment.

Working with ATEM HD8 ISO

Plugged it in, set the switcher IP and everything worked straight away. Should work with any modern ATEM switcher. Outdated and discontinued models will obviously not work since the API has changed over the years. For ATEMs over Ethernet, you don't need to do the Learning part of the setup, so just skip that. Set the switcher IP in settings and it should begin working immediately.
