Use the DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit to facilitate FIZ control of your manual lenses in tandem with your Focus Pro Motor and your RS 3/4 Pro gimbal stabilizer. Integrated 2.4 GHz technology can control the Focus Pro Motor from up to 524.9' away. Toggle AMF mode to engage autofocus, causing the focus knob to rotate simultaneously and allowing cinematographers to visually observe the focus status on the monitor and via tactile feedback. Manual mode can then be engaged and disengaged intuitively.

The A-B electronic marking points provide tactile feedback for endpoints and step-less damping adjustment, ensuring more accurate focusing. The unit also allows you to toggle the recording of your camera via Bluetooth. A 1.09" touchscreen display displays your current settings. Power is delivered to the hand unit via an NP-F550 battery.

I got the basic on camera grip lidar bundle at first and should have purchased this hand unit as well at the time as I now will use it all the time. It works much much better than the other systems I’ve tried (tilta and SmallRig) and I really like the way the weighted/dampened wheel operates. If you have DJI motors you should get this. I’m using it with Arles and SimeraC and Irix lens sets.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this hand unit. I’ve paired it up with my DJI Ronin 4D and wireless transmission monitor, and it works fantastically. I’ve had one issue where it didn’t seat correctly, and the pins weren’t talking for whatever reason, but a re-seating fixed it. The price point on this is pretty great as well considering what other quality follow focus units cost. DJI is really innovating the industry and have done an amazing job with their products.

Yes, the DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit can be used with the DJI Ronin 4D 4-Axis Cinema Camera when used with the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor connected via the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor Holder.

You do not need the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor, B&H # DJHBRM, in order to use the DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit.

Is there a way to easily/quickly switch between different focus motors in a multi cam shoot from the hand controller?

Yes, you could quickly pair another motor. However, having a second Hand Controller would be the best option and paired to the motors on the second Unit. While it is fast a second hand controller paired and setup would be the best way to work quickly and without setup delays on set.

Can this be used with just the focus motors or does it have to be used with the gimbal as well?

The DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit is a totally wireless controller only for zoom focus and iris. Its small display mimics many of the functions of the DJI Focus Pro Hand Grip. The hand grip can control two motors and is the brain that connects to the DJI Focus Pro Lidar and can power motors as well from its BG21 battery for up to 5-7 hours. Basically, the Focus Pro grip is an RS4 gimbal brain on a handle.

Currently the DJI Hi Bright Display mount has not been released. Also, the new cable hub has not been released.

The DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit does not output any video. It can be used in conjunction with the DJI Transmission with High-Bright Monitor Combo, BH #DJTRC, in order to receive video transmitted from the included transmitter.
