Affordable, lightweight & great throw
Yes, this light is a much simpler version of similar lights, but that's part of what makes this a fantastic light. - This light does not have a ballast, making it light weight and easier to travel with. - Most importantly this bi-color light output is powerful and bright. - The controls on the back of the light are very easy to use. - This light can be set up in 10 secs or less! Nice soft light, very easy and fast set-up
I'm enjoying this light Raya Bi-color/RGB light with the lantern modifier. I’ve been using it mostly on location for interviews and b-roll setups where I want an ambient, soft fill and I'm impressed with it. The 360° spread from the lantern gives off this nice, even glow that plays really well in tighter rooms or when you’re trying to avoid harsh shadows. It’s especially handy when you want the light to feel more like it's part of the environment, not calling attention to itself. It's great on a regular light stand or out on a boom so it hangs downward, casting a wide, soft light to add an overall ambient light to the room. The RGB and bi-color modes work well. I’ve mostly stuck with daylight and tungsten balance, but it’s nice to have the color options when I need a quick accent or mood shift. It even comes with some lighting effects. The included remote has been clutch when I’m operating solo or just need to make quick adjustments. Setup is super-fast, similar to an umbrella. I love that. And the build is solid enough to take on the road without babying it. Having an included carrying bag that holds everything is also appreciated. The bag helps with the mobility and keeps it safe and secure. I love when lights come with cases or bags to contain it. I'm very happy with this LED light/lantern. It is very affordable, and it fills a really useful spot in my kit. For soft overheads, fills, or adding shape to a scene without bringing in a big rig, it’s a smart, low-hassle solution.
