Raya Lamp with Octabox Reviews
Incredible light, Incredible price!
If you're a beginner or just looking for a larger soft light, this bi-colored light is fantastic! This light is incredibly user friendly and very easy to set up. I tested the light output and was rather surprised at the quality and the output throw because this light is only $99. I'm using this light as a key light with a 40x40 scrim in front of it to soften the light even more. If this light ever drops below $99, don't hesitate to pick one up. Fast to set-up and gives a nice, soft light with good spread
I've been using this light/softbox combo on a few recent shoots, mostly interviews and some quick studio setups, and it's been solid. The color accuracy is good in my opinion, including when you're lighting faces. I’ve also used the RGB modes to add a little punch or accent in the background without having to break out extra gear or gels, which is always a plus when you're moving fast. The built-in collapsible octabox is one of my favorite things about it. It pops open super easy like an umbrella, so setup takes no time, and the soft light it produces has a nice wrap to it. It is great for flattering key light, especially in tight setups or for single-subject framing. It's also good for a soft, fill light. The fact that it packs down into a small bag is just one less thing to worry about when you’re bouncing between locations or working solo. This Raya light definitely has a place in my working kit. I’ve found it especially useful for remote shoots, small crew jobs, or any situation where speed and simplicity matter. The remote is a nice addition when the light’s mounted out of reach, and the passive cooling means I can run it all day without noise creeping into the audio. I'm impressed with this light, it's been a reliable and versatile piece of gear for me. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]
