Senal ME-220 Reviews

Great for audio monitoring

I primarily bought these to monitor audio on my camera during interviews. These are excellent at that task. Voices sound clear and detailed, and I personally like the amount of emphasis on sibilance, not too much or too little. I was hoping that these IEMs could double well for listening to music or for games. Vocals sound excellent and I noticed I can analyze harmonies and background vocals better. Instrument separation is also good. However, there's a weird dip in the highs that affects the sound of a lot of instruments. The timbre of most string instruments are affected, especially orchestral. Also cymbals and high hats can be difficult to hear. The bass is over emphasized for my tastes and can get muddy for music where the bass is already emphasized. Surprisingly you can still make out the mids and the highs well even when the bass is loud due to the good separation. I like the headphones for genres like electronic, pop, and most rock/metal but dislike them for orchestral or classical.

Great for audio books

These over the ear speakers are just what I need for my audio books.
