The Playtpod Handle with Elbow Support and Platypod Disc Set from B&H combines the Platypod handle support with the elbow support arm and an Arca-type compatible mounting disc to provide a versatile camera mounting solution.
A varied and versatile camera support accessory, the lightsaber-inspired Platypod Handle is a vlogging stick, camera riser, and adjustable rig-spine made to get mid-size and mirrorless cameras wherever they need to be. The 6.5" aluminum shaft can either be expanded to 10.5" or collapsed to 3" by removing the middle section. Featuring a 3/8"-16 screw and thread on the top and bottom, respectively, the Handle also has eight 1/4"-20 threaded holes on its stainless steel top as well as an Arca-Type compatible wedge on its bottom, making it compatible with the full spectrum of the Platypod ecosystem along with numerous third-party tripods, ball heads, and more.
Mount an accessory that weighs up to 5 lb with the Elbow Support Arm from Platypod onto your Platypod extreme, ultra, or max flat tripod. The arm features an 0.2" long lower 1/4"-20 bolt to mount onto any Platypod thread. The arm measures 4.7" when folded and 7" when fully extended.
A single control lever loosens all joints simultaneously to function as a mini magic arm. End bolts rotate fully and collars rotate 360°, allowing them to be placed in any position. A thumbwheel-controlled 1/4"-20 top screw allows easy accessory attachment, providing mounting for small cameras, monitors, lighting, microphones, and other accessories with a 1/4"-20 thread.
The Platypod Disc is a compact accessory for the Platypod Max, Ultra, and eXtreme camera supports. It's also an Arca-type mounting plate that can be used with Arca-compatible ball heads such as the Platypod Elite and Ergo. (It's actually included with the Elite and Ergo heads.)
Featuring a bubble level, the Platypod Disc can simply be attached to the Platypod Max, Ultra, or eXtreme to help level them. Or it can be used to convert the 3/8"-16 screw on the top of these plates to 1/4"-20. It has a 3/8"-16 female thread on the bottom and 1/4"-20 male on top to allow the conversion. The conversion enables you to mount a camera or other 1/4"-20 devices to the top of the Max, Ultra, or eXtreme camera supports.
Besides the 3/8"-16 thread on the bottom, the Platypod Disc has an Arca-type dovetail on the bottom. But the dovetail has a different design than standard Arca dovetails. It's round, but it fits in Arca clamps the same as a standard Arca dovetail does. But the round design allows you to rotate the disc within the clamp before securing it.
The Platypod Disc is made of aluminum and has a compact 2" diameter.
