Behringer UCA222 Overview

Connect instruments and other audio devices to your computer with UCA222 from Behringer, an extremely compact and cost-effective audio interface. Supporting both recording and playback, the UCA222 sports 16-bit / 48 kHz sampling rates, a convenient fixed USB cable for host connections, and a versatile optical S/PDIF digital output.

The interface is class compliant, providing macOS and Windows compatibility without drivers, and is entirely bus powered, allowing you to avoid tangled power cables and outlets. The UCA222 offers a stereo 3.5mm headphone output for low-latency monitoring and a dedicated headphone volume control wheel. Analog I/O includes two stereo pairs of RCA connectors that can be used for stereo or dual-mono signals. The UCA222 includes a massive software bundle that includes Audacity audio editor, comprehensive podcasting software, and over 150 virtual instruments and FX plug-ins, which are downloadable from the Behringer website.

Wide Possibilities
When used as a professional interface between a mixing console and your computer, myriad options become available. Some of these might include connecting the UCA222 RCA outputs to the tape input jacks of your mixer or to your powered monitors. Connecting to the mixer input channels allows you to use your mixer's aux send feature to build an extremely versatile monitor mix for recording sessions.

Simple and very acceptable interface that allows connection of my 2017 iMac (plug straight in with no extra adaptor USB-A) to my stereo receiver that sits within reach. The audio quality is way better than plugging in to the computer’s headphone jack. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is occasionally when the video screen changes images a low audible bump can be heard. At the price this is a very acceptable unit.
