Impact Background Stabilizing Bar Reviews
Great idea....
I have been in the industry for a very long time and was excited to finally learn about leader/stabilizing bars for seamless. I excitedly ordered several. The concept is brilliant but, unfortunately, the usage not easy. I ended up cutting the roll of paper so many times trying to get it perfectly straight to have the bar hold the paper the entire length. First lesson learned is that it is much easier to be working with a brand new roll of seamless. Regardless, even when attaching to a new roll I found the process challenging to attach the bar along a 107" roll alone. A 2nd set of hands would probably make the job much easier. Most importantly, I am finding as I have done several sessions since attaching the bars that very sadly and frustratingly, they don't seem to stay attached well to the paper. I have a backdrop system that holds 6 rolls of paper and each time I roll one up and down the bars are falling off. When they are rolled down and on the floor it works wonderfully, no longer having to use tape to keep them in one spot and flat. The bar takes care of that. But they shouldn't fall off when rolled back up. Super disappointed. I initially was intending to purchase 6 bars for this system as well as 3 for my other system holding shorter length paper. Don't think I will move forward with the purchase as a result of them not staying put.
Very sturdy
I like this brand better than the savage so far all impact brand equipment that I have purchased has been great quality. Although leader bars that clamp on are a little tricky to put on longer lengths
