Tilta Khronos for iPhone 15 Pro Max Reviews
V2 will be amazing... but for now... hmmmm
I am writing a review one more time... the last review never got posted. I want to love this case... I bought into the whole ecosystem. Overall, in typical Tilta fashion, there are SO many great engineering choices. But there are also some devastating choices that cause the stars to drop. 1) The case requires four incredibly small special screws to close the case. This means that any time you want to use your phone to shoot video, you need to remove those four tiny screws, place your phone in, then reinstall those four tiny screws. 2) The tiny screws are a special head (not just hex) and require a tiny tool that is provided. That tool has no spot to mount on any of the Khronos gear, so that tool needs to be managed separately.... lose that tool and you cannot use the case. 3) In addition to the tool required... when you attach the handles, mounts, adapters, etc around the case, those accessories also clamp the face of the case... so you have to remove every accessory, and remove all four screws, to pull your phone out. 3B) TILTA... lock the face of the case in place... and hinge both sides of the case just below the buttons, with the split (and small latch) at midpoint down the side...This way the phone can be easily inserted and removed... no screws necessary, and no need to remove any of the accessories. Simple engineering. 4) The case is way too slippery. The four corners have strangely ineffective rubber inserts, but they don't act as feet or bumpers and they are not located well for grip. So, watch out, this case will scratch whatever you lay it on. 5) The Included Card Holder is a strange choice. Just makes the case a little too heavy to carry in your pocket and serves no purpose other than to carry a credit card. I would rather that they included a kick-stand.
