The nature of a good macro lens is that the front element can be very close to the subject, so having something to protect the front of my new OM System 90mm PRO Macro lens was imperative. This is a very nice, unobtrusive filter with no visible distortion or filter factor and smooth threads on both sides of the glass. My STF-8 macro flash ring screws onto this filter very securely, and the back threads don't feel like they'll get stuck on the lens for easy enough removal. It's pricey for what it is, but it feels like quality.
