TC Electronic POLYTUNE 3 Overview

Compact Polyphonic Tuner with Bonafide Buffer Built In
Tune your electric guitar or bass quickly and accurately while maintaining your tone with the Polytune 3 from TC Electronic, a compact tuner pedal with three diverse tuning modes: Polyphonic, Chromatic, and Strobe. With the celebrated Bonafide Buffer circuitry inside, you can preserve your tone during long cable runs or complex pedalboards.

The polyphonic tuning mode lets you tune all your strings at once; chromatic tuning offers a rapid tuning method with up to 0.5-cent accuracy; the strobe tuning mode provides exceptional tuning accuracy, within ±0.05 cents. Polytune 3 will automatically detect your playing and switch between monophonic or polyphonic tuning. You can engage internal DIP switches for activating a true bypass (ideal for pure tone when using minimal pedals and short cables), buffered bypass (for long cable runs and lots of pedals), and a buffered bypass with Always On mode, which constantly tracks your tuning even when unmuted. The pedal also has settings for standard tuning, various drop tunings, and several capo tunings.

Polytune Fast
Whether you're a rock star, a seasoned pro, or a passionate bedroom shredder, Polytune 3 gets you in tune quickly and accurately. Depending on your needs, you can choose polyphonic for tuning all strings at the same time for your live gig, chromatic for more precision during a songwriting session, and strobe for the ultimate in precision, when you're laying down tracks.
Get Buffed
Polytune 3 includes the iconic Bonafide Buffer, TC Electronic's renowned guitar buffer that ensures zero signal degradation, no matter how long a cable you need to run. Think of it as a tuner on steroids that constantly protects your precious tone.
Made for Any Lighting Scenario
Whether you're performing on a truck bed in full sunlight, in a dimly lit tavern, or on a stage with a massive light show, Polytune 3's superbright 109-LED display features an ambient light detector that automatically adjusts the intensity to provide the perfect readout.

TC Electronic POLYTUNE 3 Reviews

Excellent tuner. Bright display.

This tuner works very well and allows multiple modes for tuning. It can tune all 6 strings at once as an option. Battery life is about 12-15 hours and will work for several gigs.. A PSU is best for frequent practice sessions.

Seems great but gave me problems live at a gig

At home I absolutely lived this pedal. The polytune mode was great. Both polytune and mono modes seem a bit fussy but I've never had a tuner that gave the same reading twice. At least with this it's so precise I trust that slight inaccuracies won't really be audible. Problem is that at the gig I used it, it went haywire seemingly with noise and wouldn't even give a reading. I played with all my controls to be sure that wouldn't change the situation but no success. I ended up using the lowly Snark Tight which I hate but have to admit saved the day. I tune by ear but at a gig I can't. I am trusting all the wonderful reviews on this pedal and my initial experience at home for the 4 star rating but not with 100% confidence level.
