ZWO Asiair Plus Reviews

Be Sure on Compatibility!

I believe the ZWO ASI Air Plus is likely a great tool for astrophotography based on its capabilities and reviews. However, if you're planning on interfacing your DSLR with it, check to ensure it is compatible. Yes, there are workarounds for many unsupported cameras but, IMHO, they hobble the value of the control box. I ended up returning mine and instead am going with a PC-based open-source solution (which is actually costing me more than the AIR). All that said, I am excited to be moving into astrophotography. Using my DSLR (and lenses) is just a way to enter the field walking instead of running. ;-)

This is my second Plus. The wifi stopped working on my first one after four years. The new one works perfectly. It makes my astrophotography so much easier and enjoyable.

Is the ZWO Asiair plus compatible with the Nikon Z8?
Asked by: Michael
Yes, the Z8 was tested by ZWO and is fully compatible; I would recommend having a shutter cable to be safe as a backup. Link for cable: https://bit.ly/4pCNTJJ
