Sirui KS-20 Reviews

Great addition to my production cart

I work with clients at their location, corporate headshots, environmental portraits, etc. and I use a production cart to carry all my gear and use as a mobile workstation when I'm on the job. The KS-20 is small and lightweight and the quick release function is perfect for my use case. I can quickly lock down my camera on the cart because it snaps into place with a little pressure. When I'm ready to take another shot, just press the thumb lever (not the same as the locking lever) and the camera lifts right off. You really can remove the camera with one hand after a little practice.

Great for the price

I bought this because i wanted a ball mount for my Groofwin. Small enough to not get in the way and big enough for my D100 and 70-200mm. Yeah i know it's an old body .. lol But it works. The controls for the ks-20 are ok. The drag is the best but for $67 (in store purchase) it's perfectly fine. I'm happy to get it and at a great price.

Is this compatible with any arca plate or Fuji arca grip plate? Or do you have to use their arca plates only?

The B&H answer by Daniel C is accurate, I normally use the RRS BH-40 that also uses a flip lever to release the Arca Swiss plate and it is compatible with a wide range of Arca-Swiss plates as well as the base plate that ships with the BH-40 (I'm currently using one made by Kirk). When I tried to attach my camera with the Kirk arca plate, it would not fit. I also tried the RRS plate and a plate that came from Peak Design and they would not fit either. The only plate that did fit was a DJI Ronin Gimbal plate that has a similar design. So, definitely not a universal Arca plate design. However, I purchased this ball head for a different use case and swapping out the base plate is worth it for the quick release function built into this ball head. It's very easy to use. The ball head is on my production card and I leave the locking lever in the "Half-Way" position so I can lock my camera down in a safe place that won't get knocked off the cart if someone bumps into it.
