Portrait-length prime is designed for APS-C-format Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras and provides an 89.6mm equivalent focal length.
Bright f/1.4 maximum aperture excels in low-light conditions and also affords increased control over depth of field for achieving selective focus effects.
One special low dispersion (SLD) element reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to achieve greater clarity and color accuracy.
Two aspherical elements are used to limit distortion and spherical aberrations and also contribute to greater overall sharpness and accurate rendering.
A super multilayered coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions.
A stepping AF motor benefits both photographers and videographers with its fast, precise, and near-silent performance.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.
The bayonet mount is constructed from brass to ensure accuracy and durability. Additionally, rubber sealing is incorporated in the mount design to render it dust and splash resistant.

Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Reviews

Great lens for candid portraits and street work

I got this lens for street portraiture and soft out of focus areas, and it has been a joy to use. The lens is reasonably sharp at f/1.4 (surprisingly so) and even better at 1.8 and up. The auto focus works well and has been satisfactory for my intended purpose. If I had a complaint, it would only be that the auto focus sometimes feels a little slow to me. Mostly it's fine. It's my current favorite R-mount lens.

Totally worth it, love it

Very happy with the purchase, it has a beautiful image definition, it is a lens that allows you to play a lot with closeness even though it is not necessarily macro, also it has a beautiful focus; very good purchase.

BH #SI5614EFM is the EF-M mount version of this lens and is not compatible with the Sony A6000. For the A6000 you will need BH #SI5614DCSE which is the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Sony E) and the proper version for the Sony A6000. https://bhpho.to/2PRFNe2

The Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Nikon Z) is physically a 56mm lens, that never changes. On a Nikon Z8 it runs in DX crop, giving a full-frame equivalent field of view of about 84mm.
