Does this device support Wi-Fi 6E (6 GHz)? It won’t connect to my 6E network.
Asked by: Digital Studio Peru
According to the official specifications, the device supports Wi-Fi 6E (6 GHz), but this functionality does not appear to be working. My unit only detects and connects to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. Could this be due to a pending firmware update, or is there a specific method to enable Wi-Fi 6E support? I would appreciate your help with this matter, as I recently purchased two PDT-FP1 units, specifically because of their advertised support for Wi-Fi 6E. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Does it do data bonding if you provide two data plans, one with nano SIM the other with eSIM? or does it only switch to stronger signal of the two?
Asked by: Nidal Q
The Sony Portable Data Transmitter switches to the strongest signal. The two sims are not bonded. It supports single or dual SIMs (nanoSIM + eSIM) for transmitting data while automatically switching to a stronger network.

Does it work with other camera brands ? Such as Canon or Nikon ?
Asked by: Chris
Can you clarify, please? What about through the LAN or USB-C ports? Will it work with a Canon 1Dx or R3 using the LAN port? And will it recognize the Canon (or Nikon) files and transmit them without a problem? Is a third party app needed or would one use Canon Connect? There’s very little info available and no videos posted by users yet (other than Sony a1 or a9 users). B&H is great about accepting returns but I’d rather avoid the hassle if there’s any doubt it would function smoothly. Thanks.
