The mounting holes in the Matthews Baby Plate (Black Hyper-Chrome, 3") (B&H# MAB429041) will not accommodate a 1/2" (12.7mm) diameter screw but they would accommodate a 1/4" (6.35mm) diameter screw. They are simple holes and do not feature any sort of threading.
