Inspired by vintage lenses from the 1950s, the aluminum Thypoch Eureka 50mm f/2 Lens features a unique, collapsible barrel for its human-eye perspective, making it a portable companion for portraits, landscapes, and documentary subjects. Its large, f/2 aperture also enhances depth of field effects like bokeh and subject-background separation. The lens takes A36 Leica over-the-lens filters for neutral density, polarization, and other light modifying effects. Collapsed, the lens measures just more than an inch, making it ideal for travel and all-day shooting.

Thypoch Eureka 50mm f/2 Aluminum Reviews
Terrible Build Quality
I bought this on Amazon due to faster shipping but had to warn others here. The inner barrel that extends and retracts is not well fitted to the outer barrel. It wobbles and spins freely. Overall the lens and included filter and hood feel cheap, which at $499 it is relatively cheap compared to the Leica it tries to imitate. I actually had to repair the hood as the locking mechanism was installed incorrectly by the factory. Additionally, I think it is likely going to be sucking in dust into my M11-P. I plan to return the lens to Amazon.
Beware: It may not be compatible with your camera
Iâve bought this lens for my M10 and M3. While it worked perfectly fine on the M10, the lens didnât mount properly on my M3. It couldnât âclickâ into the mount. Iâve tried 3 variations of this lens and they all behaved the same. I hope this review helps those who are looking to use this for old film Leica bodies. While I can only speak for my M3, please make sure to test this lens before purchasing it.
