The shockmount attaches to your camera/rig via either a hot or cold shoe.
First off. The hot/cold shoe mount lock is ratcheted which means you get a very secure fit. Another reviewer complained that it kept slipping off the mount and it must be because they didn’t have enough experience to check if it was a ratchet lock or not. Second, this is a brilliantly engineered piece of kit. It is hands down the best shot gun mic mount of its type I’ve used. I have a couple from Rode but they are simply just not as good. It’s also adjustable and has a metal mount. From the design to build it oozes quality. Feels durable but replacement parts are also available via the manufacturer. Total peace of mind. Looks pretty snazzy, too. Note: apparently current stock does not feature the blue accent parts, those are grey. Which I massively prefer. It’s incredibly satisfying when you spend an age searching for a specialized piece of kit to solve a niche problem and you not only find it, but it’s actually a better all-round performer than the more readily available alternatives. I needed a compact mount to push the mic as far away from my monitor as possible without adding more weight or destabilizing my setup. Radius and Mid49 saved my build. Now looking at other gear from both manufacturers, I’m that impressed. Cheers!
See the negative review and would like to disagree here. Mine wasn’t falling once while shooting multiple days with transportation without any adjustments ( tilta cage on fx3 + Neumann km81 ) . I ordered multiple different holders, and this one has almost no handling noise and compact design. I use it backwards though , to make my oversized shotgun more balanced on the rig. Look, you can always return it but I would give it a try.
