This 95mm Variable ND Filter from Tiffen offers a unique way of maintaining control over your depth of field and presents an efficient way to create special effects. Designed with a built-in rotating ring that controls neutral density ranging from 2 to 8 stops (0.6-2.4), it allows heavier density for a slower shutter speed. The longer exposure allows the shutter to remain open long enough to record the same amount of light, but will also create movement within the shot. It eliminates having to buy and carry around individual neutral density filters. With this one filter, you can rotate to the degree of ND you want, saving money and time.

does this have coarse thread for a canon rf 28-70 f2 lens?
I can't personally write about the Canon lens, though another B&H customer has noted in a review of the PolarPro 95mm Coarse Thread Adapter listing that they needed that particular adapter for Canon RF 28-70 f/2 lens.
Lenses with larger filter diameters (such as 95mm) generally use a 1.00mm pitch (coarse), and lenses with smaller diameter filters use a 0.75mm pitch (fine). Even so, this Tiffen filter seems to have a fine pitch.
In order for me to use this filter with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-135mm lens (which has coarse threads), I have to use a PolarPro 95mm Coarse Thread Adapter between the filter and the lens. The adapter also allowed me to use the included lens hood for the NIKKOR Z 28-135mm lens with this variable ND filter. When using this Tiffen filter with the Nikon lens, attach the adapter first, then the lens hood, then the filter as the filter extends beyond the back opening of the lens hood. I always keep the filter adapter attached to the lens even when not using the filter. With the adapter I am still also able to use the lens cap.
If using this filter without the adapter on the Nikon lens you will likely damage the threads on the Nikon lens, and the filter will most likely fall off. Even if you could carefully attach the filter on the Nikon lens you would not be able to use the lens hood while using the filter.

The lens hood of the Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens (Nikon Z) cannot be used with the Tiffen Variable ND Filter (95mm, 2 to 8-Stop) mounted to the lens.

I can see a bit of threading on the front of the 62mm and 67mm Tiffen VNDs. Can you tell me what the diameter is of each of those?
I realize it is not much, but it is there, and I would like to try and use it.
The threading is not meant for further stacking and secures a 67 mm lens cover to protect the filter.
