I’m writing this first impression review not only about the products themselves, but must important about the entire experience behind them. After an initial issue with the charger included in the Watson NP-F975 kit, I reached out through B&H Photo. What followed was, honestly, one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time. The support from B&H Photo Video and the follow up from Gradus Group (Watson) was top notch. They didn’t just acknowledge the issue, they acted on it. They listened carefully, took my concerns seriously, and treated me with the same level of attention you would expect if you were a large client. Let me be clear: they truly listen to their customers. As a result, they replaced the original charger and sent me the Watson DuoVolt Charger (DPD-S100) along with the Xcellon 65W USB-C Power Adapter, and the difference is immediately noticeable. The build quality of the new charger is excellent. It feels solid, well designed, and much more reliable. One of the first things I noticed is how the batteries lock into place, it gives you confidence that everything is secure, something the previous charger lacked. Performance wise, this charger is impressive. It charges very fast, and the overall functionality feels refined and professional. The packaging itself also reflects a high quality product clean, detailed, and well presented and in this case, the product absolutely lives up to that expectation. A small note for future users: the screen on the charger is somewhat delicate and can scratch easily. It doesn't have a plastic film. so do not try to peel it off. It does include a separate screen protector (which is a great detail), but the instructions don’t clearly mention it. I recommend installing it right away and being careful during application. Overall, this experience changed my perception completely. What started as a concern turned into a strong level of trust, not only in the product, but in the brand behind it. I highly recommend both the products and, just as importantly, the customer service behind them.
Excellent charger, versatile and smart
This is a fantastic dual charger for NP-F batteries, especially handy if, like me, you have a lot of them. It is super smart and gives a ton of information on its pretty LCD screen including the battery's charge voltage/current, accumulated charge capacity, and elapsed charging time, which is helpful. I really appreciate that each slot charges independently, which is ideal for managing different battery levels. One standout feature is the selectable quick charge mode. While I don’t plan to use this feature often, it's great to have as a backup in time-sensitive situations and gives me peace of mind during shoots when every minute counts and I need a battery (or 2) charged as fast as possible. An underrated but incredibly useful feature is the charger's ability to check battery status even when it’s not plugged in. That has been very helpful for me when I'm packing up things or on the road. Such a great feature. This is an excellent charger.
