Key Features
As well as delivering the image quality and fast T-stop values of the existing DS series, the high-speed DSX models now have weather sealing, nine aperture blades, and focal lengths visible on both sides for more professional use.
The DSX range is highly versatile and available in Canon EF, Sony E, Canon RF, and MFT mounts.
Ultra multicoated lenses minimize flare and ghosting, and the lenses are color matched to a standard, eliminating the need to acquire an entire set of lenses at the same time.
Lenses in the Rokinon DSX high-speed cine lens series share common focus and iris gear ring positions, which speeds up lens changes as accessories such as follow focus units or iris motors don't have to be repositioned.
Focal lengths and measurements are in feet and meters on both sides of the lens.
The aperture ring is de-clicked for smooth iris pulls.
A minimum focusing distance of 31.5" allows you to get up close to your subject.

Rokinon 135mm T2.2 Cine DSX Reviews

A lens unlike another.

With an ownership of less than a month, this lens has dramatically improved the way I take photographs. Wanting to look for a third party lens, I decided to look for a prime lens that could come down to a low F-Stop for photography. But after research, consideration of the capabilities of my camera, and future endeavors, I opted to look for a cine lens. Budgetary restraints kept me looking for lenses with a low price, but I didn’t want a lens that would zoom when focus pulling. Then I came across a review for a series of the Rokinon DSX High-Speed Cine Lens. My need for a telephoto lens fueled my purchase of the 135mm T2.2, and the quality of the images has not disappointed me yet. Allowing the camera to do the work for you, takes away for the experience of photography. Another reason a person should consider purchasing a cine lens is because of the mechanics. One could get carried away by allowing a lens’s auto-focus capabilities, but sometimes lens doesn’t know what you’d want to focus on. Cine lenses do not typically have this feature, but it forces you to really take control of how you want your images to look and improves how you get creative with your photos. Made for professionals but should be considered by beginners. This lens, like many cine lenses, doesn’t have autofocus features because it has been designed to be used for cinematography and film production. The T-Stop and Focus Pull have been outfitted with rotary gears, so you can attach a focus pulling system, if you would like to boost the quality of the cinematography. But for photography, the focus pulling system wouldn’t be necessary. To sum up everything, the 135mm T2.2 Rokinon DSX High-Speed Cine Lens, can improve how you capture your images. The manual mechanical features is a great way to combat the reliance of the lens to know what you want. This professional grade piece of equipment, doesn’t just have to be used for large projects, but also smaller, everyday occurrences.

What do they mean when they say cine lens the reason I ask this question is that I am a beginer?
Asked by: Henry
Cine lenses have definitive T-stops instead of the F stop measurement used in photo lenses. Also gear rings are strategically positioned and consistent for the employment of follow focus systems.
