Weather-Resistant Construction
The S-Mic 3S can withstand virtually any weather condition from rain to wind to extreme temperatures. Its aluminum alloy construction is designed to perform, even in inclement weather. The mic can perform in up to 95% humidity and in temperatures ranging from -4 to 158°F without compromising sound quality.
Broadcast-Quality Sound
Featuring a supercardioid pickup pattern with low off-axis rejection, the S-Mic 3S delivers consistent sound quality in both dialog and ambient recording applications. It has a low noise floor of 12 dBA and an anti-RF interference build, allowing it to maintain less background noise, even with significant gain boosts. Regardless, its high-sensitivity design prevents the need to adjust your gain drastically. A 130 dB SPL rating prevents sudden spikes in noise from distorting your audio.
Phantom Powered
Featuring a balanced 3-pin XLR output and support for 24 or 48V phantom powering, the S-Mic 3S is ready for use with a variety of devices such as multitrack field recorders, handheld audio recorders, camera-mount mixer adapters, and XLR-equipped cinema cameras.
Ideal for Boompole Mounting
An included mic clip allows you to place the S-Mic 3S onto a boompole of your choice. Weighing just 1.6 ounces, the microphone's lightweight design makes it much more manageable on long shoot days. Secure the foam windscreen to reduce unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners.

Deity Microphones S-Mic 3S Reviews
Good for the price

It's a good mic for the price. Favors the higher-end frequencies a bit, but EQ works. I needed it to record several actors at once, so the wider pickup pattern helped. Super light microphone. Very sensitive, needs a shock. mount if used on a boom pole.
Was hesitant but glad I purchased it!

I kept seeing reviews on YouTube about the Sennheiser MKH 50 and 416 and how they are superior devices. And hearing how the longer shotgun mics deliver a better sound, but aren't the best for indoor dialogue, I wasn't sure what to get for my interview audio. But I started looking at mics recommended for doing indoor vocals and came across this one in the first week it was released. I bought it and was impressed with the sound quality. I have used lapel mics for recording vocals and they have been great, but the shotgun mics seem to give a fuller, richer sound. The Deity S-Mic 3S is awesome! I use it boomed overhead of my talent to record the interviews and I've also used it on a mic stand to record vocals from people giving speeches at podiums. I was surprised by the rejection of plosives and the proximity effect when close to the mouth makes it great for getting clear vocals. And having an end address form factor helps to reject some background noises - not much - but it's good. I use it with the Rodecaster Duo to record my talking head videos in the studio and when on assignment, I use it with the Tascam X8. Two things for ensuring this mic is best are mic placement and being able to EQ it to your liking in post-production. Everyone's voice is different so I'm glad I purchased it. I saved $1000 by going with this over the Sennheiser MKH50. I may purchase the longer version of this microphone to use outdoors. The build quality, sound quality, and the fact it is moisture resistant make this a premium product.

Is the microphone diameter compatible with the FX3 sound module or does it need an adapter?
Asked by: Franco
The Deity Microphones S-Mic 3S Weather-Resistant Short Shotgun Microphone has a thinner diameter compared to the bracket of the Sony FX 3 camera. To fit the microphone into the bracket, a spacer is required. Check this link to see the spacer: https://shorturl.at/i4K7r
