The Darkglass Alpha·Omega Ultra is a powerful bass preamp pedal, combining two distinct distortion circuits with deep tone-shaping tools, cab simulation, and advanced connectivity—all housed in a robust, pedalboard-friendly enclosure.
Dual Distortion Engines
At the heart of the Alpha·Omega Ultra are two signature Darkglass distortion circuits. The Alpha engine delivers a punchy, tight overdrive with enhanced definition, while the Omega engine offers a raw, aggressive character with brutal edge. The Mod control allows seamless blending between the two, unlocking a wide range of distorted textures.
Six-Band Graphic EQ and Flexible Tone Shaping
The built-in six-band active graphic EQ offers precision control over your sound, covering 80, 250, and 500 Hz, and 1.5, 3, and 5 kHz bands. Additional controls include:
- Blend: Mixes clean and distorted signals
- Level: Master output volume
- Drive: Amount of distortion
- Growl: Bass boost for added low-end saturation
- Bite: High-mid boost centered at 2.8 kHz for clarity and attack
Advanced Connectivity and Cab Simulation
Alpha·Omega Ultra includes:
- 1/4" instrument input and output
- Balanced XLR DI output with ground lift for clean direct signal to mixers or interfaces
- 3.5mm headphone output for silent practice
- 3.5mm auxiliary input for jamming along to backing tracks
Via USB, users can connect to the Darkglass Suite software to load and manage impulse response (IR) cabinet simulations, allowing for virtual cab emulation tailored to your sound.
