Earthworks SR25 2ND GEN Overview

The SR25 Gen 2 from Earthworks is a condenser microphone designed specifically for capturing cymbals and hi-hats for live performances and studio recording sessions. The mic's supercardioid pickup pattern provides exceptional rejection of off-axis signal and noise due to room ambiance, instruments, monitor speakers, and similar sources.

The condenser element provides a warm, transparent sonic character with an even 20 Hz to 25 kHz frequency response. The capsule boasts an SPL rating of 148 dB, allowing exceptional reproduction of audio peaks without distortion and overload. The SR25 Gen 2 is powered via 48V phantom power and includes a mic clip, foam windscreen, and storage bag.

New Active Electronics
The internal electronics have been hardened to draw less phantom power and additional protection features have been built in to safeguard against accidental hot swapping. We all know that you shouldn't plug in a condenser microphone with the power engaged but we also know that's an inevitability in the field sometimes. These new stacked changes make the SR25 Gen 2 more robust, more compatible, and more user-friendly.
Staggering SPL Handling
The wide and generous sweet spot makes the SR25 Gen 2 ideal for capturing hi-hats and cymbals. A staggering SPL rating of 145 dB helps to ensure your attack won't distort or overload.
Built for Touring, Used Everywhere
The SR25 Gen 2 hi-hat and cymbal microphone is incredibly versatile and built for live sound reinforcement. It captures all the details of a condenser microphone, but performs with the usability of a dynamic mic. This makes it ideal for streaming and video recordings and also for all studio work environments.
