This camera uses instax's largest format instant film to create 2.4 x 3.9" images on a 3.4 x 4.3" piece of film. Featuring a retractable 95mm f/14 lens and a two-range focus zone setting, sharp imagery is ensured. A 0.37x optical viewfinder with a target spot makes composing images easy. The instax WIDE 400 has a built-in flash for shooting in low-light settings.

Fails to dispense film

Never even had a chance to use the camera. I had issues right out of the box with it dispensing the film. It would not eject one single photo from the pack. So one entire cartridge of 10 gone, no photos. The cover piece that dispenses first even got stuck in the camera. Not sure if I’d exchange or return for something different.

Can you turn the flash off and on or is it always auto? And is there a “light” and “dark” option like the old Instax wide?

The flash on the FUJIFILM instax WIDE 400 Instant Film Camera is fully automatic. It also does not have a light and dark feature.

Can it be used as a photo printer to print from smartphone as well?

The FUJIFILM instax WIDE 400 Instant Film Camera cannot print from a smartphone. Instead you could use the FUJIFILM instax WIDE EVO Hybrid Instant Film Camera, BH #FUIWECBK • MFR #16840957, which has the ability to print from a smartphone.
