RODE Lavalier II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (Black)

With its custom-engineered capsule and low-profile form factor, the black Rode Lavalier II omnidirectional lavalier microphone is a visually discreet solution when you need clear, intelligible, and tonally neutral speech reproduction for online content, vlogs, film projects, live streams, interviews, and broadcasts. Not only is the capsule easily concealed, the flat cable is also designed to be kept out of sight and threaded without hassle.

Thanks to an omnidirectional polar pattern and a frequency response that doesn't hype or hide important frequencies, the Lavalier II picks up sound naturally and consistently from all directions. Its 3.5mm TRS output incorporates a locking connector for secure attachment to wireless transmitters outfitted with locking mini-jack inputs. The Lavalier II comes fully equipped with a bundle of accessories, including a pop shield, mini furry windshield, colored ID rings, and a zip wallet.

The Mic Hiding Starter Kit from Bubblebee Industries equips you with all the tools necessary for discreet lavalier microphone mounting on your talent. Included in the kit are fifteen invisible lav covers in the original mesh, moleskin, and fur as well as black, beige, and white colorways. Switch out the covers to best suit your shooting scenario. Attach the covers to both your lavalier and your talent with the fifteen pieces of invisible lav tape and conceal your cable runs with the five pieces of invisible skin tape. Great mic but.....

I use the Lav II with the DJI Mic 2 kit. It works well with that set up and the audio quality is very nice. My biggest complaint though is with the flimsy mic clip that easily loses it's grip with the mic element. Also the provided specialized windscreen comes off too easily when inevitably the talent yoinks on the mic cable after the shoot. THE BIGGEST issue though, is that the mic clip is bespoke to the very narrow mic element on the LAV II and if you lose it, good luck ordering a replacement! RODE has decided you'll never get a replacement clip (as bad as it is). Considering I just dropped $400 for 4 LAV II mics, it's pretty disappointing to discover I'm on my own to figure out how to replace their shoddy clip that the talent lost in the dirt because it dislodged so easily. Knowing that RODE doesn't provide support for their own products will mean I'll stick to Sennheiser and DJI from now on.

The RODE Lavalier II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (Black) is eligible for return to B&H within 30 days of receipt for a refund or exchange if there are any problems with the microphone. After that you will need to contact RODE directly for assistance with any mechanical issues. The microphone has a 1-year manufacturer's warranty which is extendable for an additional year with registration on RODE's website.

Yes, the RODE Lavalier II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone can be connected directly to the 3.5mm jack on a computer that has a mic input. However, on some computers, the 3.5mm jack can only function as a line level output for headphones or speakers.
