CyberPower MP1041SC Reviews

Works fine

The power goes out about twice a year so when I saw this surge protector on sale again at B and H photo I had to have it. I purchased my first one in May/2023 and two more in Sept/2024. I’ve had no problems with them. I plug in my Router, Modem and table lamp. In another one I plug in two medium sized Air Cleaners and a Fan. The on/off switch has a light so if I notice one day that the light no longer works it might be that it did its job protecting my items. I could have saved a couple dollars by buying power strips but I like knowing I have a surge protector here when I really need it.

Insane fire hazard!!

The power strips I received barely make contact when devices are fully plugged in. I thought it was the particular plug, but I tried several and all just barely held themselves in all of the receptacles. There is only retention pressure for the last 1/8 before the plug bottoms out. Worse, as the weight of the cords slowly pulled the plugs out, sparks arc out of the plug. I assumed wrongly that the CyberPower name would mean safety. These are going in the bin before someone uses them again.
