Fractal Design FD-C-MOD1N Overview

Sporting a unique standing motif, the Fractal Design Mood Mini-ITX Small Form Factor Case saves space on your desktop while promoting airflow, keeping your components cool even at full loads, ideal for gamers and casual users alike.

Featuring a breathable design complete with a cloth exterior, the Mood allows air to flow throughout the system. A top 180mm fan pulls in air from the sides and exhausts it, keeping your system cool and within thermal performance parameters. On the inside, you can easily install the M-ITX motherboard of your choice as well as SFX and SFX-L power supplies up to 5.1" long. You also get multiple mounting points for your storage drives including one 3.5" and two 2.5" bays. The Mood also gives you two full-height expansion slots and enough room to install a single graphics card up to 12.8" long and 2.2" in width. Additionally, you can install CPU coolers up to 4.3" tall with additional room for fans and radiators.

Connectivity
Connect your most essential devices with an array of easy-to-access USB ports. Two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports offer up to 5 Gb/s data transfer speeds, suitable for resource demanding devices. A single USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 port offers expansive capabilities with 20 Gb/s data transfer speeds. You also get a single 3.5mm combo audio jack for gaming headsets.
Enhanced Cooling
Breathable textured, double-layered fabric and top mesh panel enhance cooling capabilities. The internal steel frame houses a 180mm fan at the top and allows you to install two 140 or 120mm fans or remove the 3.5" drive bay to install a radiator up to 280mm.
PCIe Riser Cable
An included PCIe 4.0 riser cable allows you to seamlessly connect your GPU to your motherboard without effecting performance.
Internal I/O Access
Minimize cable clutter with bottom facing I/O allowing for centralized cable management out of the rear of the case. The lockable door allows you to access your ports and keeps your system together when traveling.

Fractal Design FD-C-MOD1N Reviews

Aesthetically pleasing

Some people bash this case for not enough air flow and I agree it does not move the most. But I have a 9800X3d in one and using a Thermalright Silver Soul 110 and even in long gaming runs the cpu stays under 85C, I set the fan curves low until the cpu hits 75 then the cpu and top fan go to 100%. yes it's a little loud but with the headphones on which I always do for gaiming I don't hear it so who cares. Running a Asus proart 4080 super on the back side and it never overheats.

Stylish case

Great looks and nice build quality, using a Asrock B650 MB 7800x3d CPU with a Asus pro art 4080 super, a 3080 FE also fits fine. Running a 30 undervolt and getting great performance and cooling with a Noctua NH-D9L. This is the second one I have built and may do another for a Home Theatre PC as it would look great next to my big screen.
