Ulanzi V6 Overview

Influencers, documentarians, and vloggers will find convenience and crisp audio the V6 3-in-1 2-Person Plug-and-Play Wireless Lavalier Microphone System from Ulanzi. This 2.4 GHz wireless lavalier microphone system features low-latency audio transmission without the need for setup, Bluetooth, or a wireless app. The set includes two omnidirectional microphone transmitters and a receiver and is designed for use with smartphones, tablets, and cameras.

The receiver features USB-C and Lightning plugs on either side for plugging directly into your iPhone, tablet, or Android device. It also features a 3.5mm TRS mic output on the side for a more traditional analog connection to a computer, camera, or recorder. The transmitters connect to the receiver via a maximum line-of-sight signal range of 164' and feature noise reduction and anti-interference technology for the clearest sound.

Mounting options include a shoe mount on the receiver to mount onto your camera or rig, and the transmitter mics feature clips, so you can clip them onto a lapel or shirt. The lightweight transmitters have a 6-hour battery life and the receiver can last up to 10.5 hours. A USB-C charging cable is included.

Plug-and-Play Setup
The two transmitters will automatically connect to the receiver using a 2.4 GHz RF signal without the use of an app, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth. Just plug the receiver into your recording device and power on the microphones, and they will be ready for use.
Dual Transmitters
The V6 system includes two omnidirectional transmitter microphones, enabling sound recording from two subjects simultaneously or keep one as the backup for longer usage time.
Intelligent Noise Reduction
Each microphone features a built-in noise reduction chip, anti-interference technology, and effective sound focus to record clear audio in noisy environments.
Long-Distance Transmission
The V6 uses the license-free 2.4 GHz RF frequency, offering low-latency, line-of-sight audio transmission up to 164' away.
Real-Time Monitoring
The receiver offers real-time monitoring via the headphone output to ensure your audio quality.
Long Battery Life

not worth the savings

based on the price point, i thought these were worth trying; they might work in a pinch with certain phone content situations. but the sound quality is so bad, especially with the "noise reduction" turned on, they are unusable for anything i would want to do. i recently bought a set of Hollyland Lark A1s for around $50 and they sound great and have excellent noise reduction. if you want a professional sound, there's much more expensive options, but for these lower price points, the Hollyland Lark A1s are such a great choice. these Ulanzi mics just aren't a minimum viable product, even for the price point. they might work for a teen getting started with streaming or content creation or something. i ended up giving them away to my friend's son for that purpose.

How would one connect this to a camera - say, a dslr, and is there a special cable needed?

In addition to the Lightning and USB-C outputs for connection to smartphones, the Ulanzi V6 3-in-1 2-Person Plug-and-Play Wireless Lavalier Microphone System features a 3.5mm TRS output for connection to the mic input on a camera or recorder, and a 3.5mm TRS cable is included in the package. Additionally, there is a 3.5mm TRS headphone jack on the receiver for monitoring the audio while recording. You can see the 3.5mm connections on the receiver in this photo: bhpho.to/4jt2eVa

What channel(s) are passed from the receiver to device via USB C? Mono? If stereo, what kind i.e. TX 1 on ch 1, TX 2 on ch 2?
