Given that the 4K resolution is lower here than on something like the C70 (which does 4K DCI), why aren’t they compatible?
The Canon RF-S 7.8mm f/4 STM Dual Lens (Canon RF) is currently only compatible with the R7 due to the processing software needed for the dual lens, plus the megapixel count in the R7 is significantly higher than that of the C70.

Will fit with the r5c with any firmware update?
The Canon RF-S 7.8mm f/4 STM Dual Lens (Canon RF) is a crop sensor lens. It will fit on a full-frame camera, such as the R5C, but the R5C cannot process the dual-lens view. They make this dual lens 5.2mm for the R5C: https://bhpho.to/2YsYpun.
