It is recommended to use this suction cup on a flat surface with the weight of the arm balanced over the center of the suction cup. Regardless of additional safety measures, it is always recommended to push down the suction cup when first attaching it to any surface. The suction cup should be as flat against the surface as possible and should look noticeably flatter than when not attached. Attaching the suction cup without applying physical force to it can greatly increase the chance of accidental disconnection.
