Always seemed a bit flimsy but I liked it. All of a sudden my Canon sent a message saying the grip had failed and stopped working. I could not find my door to the battery so camera does not work.

Grip works great and feels good in the hands. Battery does not go down quickly. Shot a football game and barely used 1/2 a battery for an entire game. Used Ethernet as well and worked great

Could you also use this battery grip with the Canon R5 or will the Ethernet port only function with the R5 Mark II?

The Canon BG-R20EP Battery Grip with Ethernet Port is compatible with the Canon R5, but the Ethernet port does not work on that camera. The Ethernet port only works with the Canon R5 Mark II.

The Canon BG-R20EP Battery Grip with Ethernet Port does not have a USB-C connection, but instead, it has Ethernet. Therefore, using a computer with an Ethernet port (plus an ethernet cable) is recommended, but you can still use a USB-C cable from the camera to a computer whether you are using the grip or not.

The WFT-R10 batteries wear out fast, as one battery powers the cam and one battery powers the file transfer. Is issue fixxed?

The Canon BG-R20EP Battery Grip with Ethernet Port is not a wireless grip like the WFT-R10 is, so it does not have that issue. It can use the two batteries in the grip to power the camera.

Do 2 batteries supply power to the R5II, or does only 1 battery do so while the 2. is used for image upload like in the WFT-R10?

The Canon BG-R20EP Battery Grip with Ethernet Port supplies power to the Canon EOS R5 Mark II Mirrorless Camera with two batteries. Like the Canon WFT-R10A Grip, it allows wireless file transfer.

Is the ethernet port able to be used as an additional stills tether port as a more stable connection port than the USBc?

Yes because the ethernet connection on the Canon BG-R20EP is 2.5G (up to 2500Mbps) while USB-C is only up to 480 Mbps. Plus ethernet connections can be longer and the USB.

Is there any way to get a live video feed out (NDI maybe) or a way to power the camera over POE?

While the Canon BG-R20EP Battery Grip with Ethernet Port features a high-speed 2.5G Base-T Ethernet port and its primary functions are high-speed file transfer and remote camera control rather than native live video streaming or power delivery, the Canon BG-R20EP does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power the camera, and currently, there is no native way to get a live NDI video feed directly out of the BG-R20EP Ethernet port.
