Large Ambient String Ensemble and Small Dry Ensemble—Best of Both Worlds
A dream come true for arrangers and mixers, Vienna Symphonic Library Synchron Duality Strings (Full Library) comprises two string ensembles that were recorded at once, performing perfectly in tune with each other in separate rooms at Synchron Stage Vienna. The large ensemble played in the huge main hall, Stage A, delivering a full, more symphonic sound. The smaller, chamber-sized ensemble was recorded close-miked in the relatively dry and intimate Stage B, the perfect place to zoom in on those meticulously recorded articulations. Use these ensembles separately, or blend them together as you like to spice things up and add definition and immediacy to your arrangements.
Engineers employed ten separate phase-coherent microphone configurations with dark and bright mic setups, recorded simultaneously with every nuanced detail. Using the included Vienna Synchron Player, morph your mixes from intimate to glorious or anything inbetween. Boost the principal players of your sections to provide a more direct sound. This 242.3GB Full Library comprises more than 603,031 samples.

Extensive Articulations—All Easily Accessible
- All articulations were played senza sordino (without mutes) and include a wide variety of short notes, long notes, various legato variations (normal, agile, slurred, portamento), espressivo, with various attacks and note releases, plus pizzicato, col legno, tremolo variants, fast repetitions, trills, harmonics, glissandos, legato and détaché runs, and much more.
- In addition to the included Synchron Player’s usual articulation switching capabilities, there’s a category of preconfigured patches that allows you to switch articulations using key velocity, e.g., between spiccato and staccato, between different attacks of détachés and long notes, between up-and-down movements of glissandos and runs, and more.
