Trusting original parts

Great fit. That’s the reason I stick with original parts.

Excellent concept, plastic execution

After frustratingly losing many of the original Canon, and even more 3rd party copies of the hot shoe cover, as provided with the original cameras (R6 mk2 and R8), it was refreshing to see, at admittedly a rather high price, an accessory that would effectively "hang in there" as it uses the locking hole of the hot shoe to remain in place. It also provides protection with its rubber cover. Except that the pin that locks it into the hot shoe is made of plastic. It lasted for a while but a knock on the top of the camera broke that pin, after which it will now slide off just as easily as the original part. Disappointing, you would think that if the purpose is to provide a top-notch protection at a significant cost, Canon could have gone to the trouble of making it truly resilient.
