Stereo Locking 3.5mm Mic/Line Input
The PR-2 Pocket Recorder comes equipped with a locking 3.5mm stereo mic / stereo line input.
This feature allows for versatility in audio recording, which is essential for capturing sound in a variety of settings, such as tapping a mixing board for a feed at a wedding, directly recording a lavalier microphone, or even mounting it to a 3.5mm video mic for a portable shotgun setup.
24-Bit and 32-Bit Float Recording Formats
PR-2 supports 24-bit (mono/stereo) and 32-bit float (mono) recording formats, which means that you can always achieve perfect gain staging.
The 32-bit float is an excellent feature that ensures you won't clip your audio, even if you record too hot.
This feature enables you to rework your lavalier's gain in the editing process—especially handy if you're recording in a live setting where you're not able to constantly monitor your levels.
Wireless Timecode Sync and Remote Control
The Recorder can wirelessly sync timecode from the Deity TC-1 timecode generator boxes, which is a great feature for easily adding timecode metadata to your WAV files.
This enables you to sync up your audio to your video footage in post more easily and significantly quicker, saving you time and money.
Additionally, the PR-2 is remote-controlled via Bluetooth using the Sidus Audio app (iOS/Android/macOS), which allows for every setting to be adjusted from up to 250' away.
This feature is especially useful if you need to make changes to your recording setup quickly, in situations where it is not convenient to access the recorder.
Professional Ergonomics
The PR-2 Pocket Recorder also features Deity’s signature triple-tap locking method to prevent accidentally stopping recording when the recorder is in someone's pocket.
The headphone output allows for live monitoring and checking the lavalier sound quality before recording, which is useful for ensuring that you capture high-quality audio.
The device runs on 2 AA batteries with nearly 30 hours of battery life.

Deity Microphones PR-2 Reviews
Not Trustworthy

I have had four of these packs for a little over a year and have repeatedly had issues where they stop recording audio. The app shows that they are recording and shows levels coming across but when I pull files in after the shoot I either am missing files completely or there is just silence on some of the packs. Others that were setup and deployed exactly the same are fine and record as expected.
When they work, they're awesome but I have had way too many failures to consider them trustworthy at this point.
NOT AS CLEAN AS THE TENTACLE

Pros: durable build, good quality mic. Cons: error messages on the Sidus app when they are actually recording. Battery life isn't 24hrs, not even 12hrs.

Can you connect 3 x PR-2 units to a single Deity TC-1 and have them all time code synced?
Asked by: Loïc
Yes, but, better yet, you don't even need a TC-1 to do that. The PR-2 can generate it's own time code and sync with other devices without needing a TC-1.

What is the advantage of using this instead of audio synchronization software like plural eyes or something similar?
Asked by: Carlos Hugo
Even if you are using Plural Eyes software you still need to record the audio somewhere. The Deity Microphones PR-2 32-Bit Float Pocket Audio Recorder with Lavalier Mic allows you to record the audio in it. Regarding synching, you can use the Deity TC-1 timecode generator boxes purchased separately to synch or you can use plural eyes. Using time code is more reliable than using Plural Eyes, specially when the talent is speaking in a noisy environment.
