A 3/8"-16 screw allows you to secure a variety of ball and fluid heads to the legs. A 1/4"-20 accessory thread can accommodate articulating arms for a secondary monitor, microphone, or LED light. A removable ballast hook allows you to integrate counterweights to better support larger rigs. Carry the tripod to set with the included bag.

Good Stuff

If there is one thing Leofoto does well, its cut away all the extra junk. I just wanted a tripod that didn't cost more than a high-end lens, I never use a center column, and I am 6'-2" tall. I fitted this with the Arcatech Pan Head and Leveling base and its a solid piece of equipment. Its heavy at the 36mm size for travel, but not too bad. I use it to document my Architecture work while onsite, so it works for me. I find the twist-locks to work perfectly well for me, and don't feel cheap like one other review, but hey, I'm no tripod expert (this is my first twist-lock tripod). My one critique is the challenge of using the stock weight loop. The legs are so tight at the top its hard for me to get my fingers in there to latch anything on it without opening the legs beyond the first stop. Not a huge thing, but I haven't figured out a great solution that doesn't jam when I close the legs to move locations on site. I typically use the loop to clip my camera wrist strap for extra fall security and something with weight on windy sites. The 36mm top tubes are like tree trunks compared to my last tripod. I do wish the legs opened initially a bit wider for windy days, but it hasn't really been an issue yet. Its a clean, classy looking pod in person. I can actually fit the legs inside the Shimoda SideCountry 32L with a large Side-Loader (not extended) if I remove the head/level. Pretty compact for what it is.

Although I have not used the tripod much since it arrived, I will give my first impressions. The tripod came in a nice well made carry case that also has an accessory pocket. The case is made of heavy-duty material with interior padding. The tripod is very sturdy and the fit and finish rivals that of any tripod on the market including those that are two or three times the price. The leg twist locks are large and easy to grip. A convenient one quarter turn locks or unlocks the legs. The legs extend from a height of 58” to an incredible lower range of only 3.5”. The fully extended height is more than high enough for me when my gimbal head is attached. This tripod does not have a center column. The tripod folds to a length of 22” which will fit in most checked luggage. The legs come with large mushroom shaped rubber feet. Optional spike feet are included as is an assortment of allen wrenches for tripod maintenance. The tripod legs are adjustable to three positions, 23°, 55°, and 85°.  There is a ¼” -20  accessory thread on the plate  which can accommodate magic arms etc. Leofoto has a 10 year warranty showing their confidence in the quality of their tripod. I am a wildlife photographer who mainly photographs birds. I have been surprised that there are not more reviews for Leofoto products as they are premium quality products at a reasonable price point. I do recommend this tripod.

Does this tripod accept a video head with 75mm ball base?
Asked by: James
The Leofoto LS-364CX Carbon Fiber Tripod cannot be used with a video ball base mount. It only accepts heads that have a 3/8-16 female.
