Leofoto LS-365CX Overview

The LS-365CX Carbon Fiber Tripod from Leofoto is a durable carbon fiber tripod capable of supporting up to 44 lb camera rigs while maintaining a lightweight form factor. The legs have a 3.2 to 60.1" working height range that can be adjusted using the five leg sections and twist locks. The tripod can achieve a low minimum height due to each leg's independent spread with three angle stops at 23, 55, and 85°.

A 3/8"-16 mounting screw can secure separately available video heads to the tripod. A 1/4"-20 accessory thread can accommodate articulating arms for a secondary monitor, microphone, or LED light. A removable ballast hook allows you to integrate counterweights to better support larger rigs. Carry the tripod to set with the included bag.

Great travel tripod

My previous tripod was a RRS 3 series and although it is a very stable tripod it is too large to travel with. Read some reviews on the Leofoto and checked out the specs, from everything I read it seemed to be the perfect travel tripod for my use. I often do long exposures, some as long as 3-4 minutes and I need a very stable tripod. I use the GFX100sII and when I print large for gallery exhibits everything has to be tack sharp. My first outing with the tripod was a success. Tried 3 minute exposures and the parts that needed to be sharp were perfectly sharp. Love this tripod.

Sturdy, compact, light weight, affordable...you really CAN have it all!

I searched far and wide for a tripod sturdy enough to easily support my Sony 200-600mm lens on a gimbal head while still being able to collapse small enough to fit a carry-on suitcase. There aren't many that fit the bill but this Leofoto is a winner! It does have to lay a bit diagonal to fit my suitcase but it fits nicely enough. The materials are primo being all 10 ply carbon fiber and aluminum. The legs are THICK and sturdy while still being quite light weight. Even the bottom-most section of leg which is usually thin and spindly on most 5 section tripods are still very substantial on this one. You really aren't giving up much stability compared to a 3 or 4 section tripod. The twist locks are excellent requiring only a slight turn to fully unlock and lock. I'm talking barely a quarter of a turn. And they're a nice grippy rubber. The rubber feet feel very durable and substantial. The included, easily installed spiked feet are a nice bonus. The legs fold very easily via a simple and clever locking mechanism which allows for a very low 3" minimum working height. The max height is more than I need but nice to have extra available for those odd situations. The built in set screws work great for semi-permanently attaching a leveling base without having to crank it down really hard (of course they'll work great for just a head, too). There are TWO 1/4-20 mounting threads; one to add ballast weight (carabiner included) and the other to attach whatever you'd like such as a magic arm. This seems to be the best possible compromise in achieving the sturdiness/stability of a larger and heavier tripod while still maintaining light weight portability and packability. The price is very reasonable too, I've certainly paid more to get less! I'm mating mine with the excellent Leofoto LB-60N leveling base and PG-1 gimbal head and it's a fantastic wildlife setup that I can travel with. I'm perfectly satisfied with this purchase and plan to use this for years to come.
