You might not use it immediately, but when you need somewhere to sit, you'll be covered. A producer needed to be eye level for an interview, and I suggested the apple box with the topper. I think as filmmakers, we can take the brunt of it all because that’s the job, but being able to offer it to someone who is asking questions for their company provided a little more comfort to them, which provides a memorable experience. So I bring mine every time, but I might not use it. When I do, though, it is worth it.
I was frustrated with cheaper stools not being level (and no way to adjust leg lengths). Thus, when I saw this item, it looked like a great solution since an Apple Box would sit level. In a pinch, makes for a nice seat though you do have to be a bit careful since the base would only be 8 x 12 inches (typical stools would have a wider overall base). Still, when I don't need this item, I can use the Full Apple for whatever else. I haven't yet needed the pockets, but to be honest, I keep forgetting they are there. Very easy to move around via the handle. Finally, a tip: after moving around, the handle can hang out. Lift just the seat top until the handle is snug around the top surface and then slowly lower back over the box.
