Inspired by the legendary sound of the 1073 mic pre, the 1273 from Behringer is a 2-channel mic preamp with integrated 3-band inductor-based EQ for precision and low noise. With discrete Class-A circuitry, Midas transformer-balanced I/O, and 80 dB of stepped gain control, this handy 2 RU mic pre offers faithful vintage tone and maximum signal integrity.
Along with EQ control, the 1273 sports a passive 50 to 300 Hz high-pass filter and several dedicated switches for useful functions, such as Tone (which changes input transformer impedance for certain mics), +48V phantom power, Insert, Line, and Inst selections for input-signal type, and EQ bypass, among others. You also get plenty of connectivity options, including two XLR-1/4" combo inputs, two 3.5mm instrument inputs, two dedicated XLR mic inputs and 1/4" TRS line inputs, two balanced XLR outputs, two extra 1/4" line inputs, and 1/4" send and return I/O. When taking in signals, you can easily view your levels with the bright 7-segment LED meter on each channel. The 1273 includes a power cable and an integrated universal, auto-switching power supply.
The 1273 has versatile gain controls for each channel for various input types such as mic, line, and instrument, providing comprehensive control and flexibility for different recording scenarios. And if you’re switching between different mics, like a dynamic to a ribbon, pressing the tone switch adjusts the transformer impedance for whatever mic is in use. Great for when you are using vintage microphones.
