Kase +2 Close-Up Lens Set with 67-77mm & 72-77mm Step Up Rings (77mm)

Finally...a high-quality close-up lens!

For a long time, I've been using a 35-year-old Canon 500D close-up lens on my Nikon 100-400 S zoom lens to make the lens a long focal length macro lens (not quite life-size, but close. And the working distance is fantastic). The results are high-quality macro images. The problem is that most close-up lenses are junk, and, until recently, the market had no peer to the discontinued Canon 500D. NISI recently came out with a 77mm close-up lens that looked promising. Unfortunately, on my 100-400 zoom, the results became soft and useless after about 270 mm (I'm sure the NISI would be an excellent choice for a 70-200mm lens). The old Canon lens works great through the entire zoom range. Then I saw Adam Gibbs on YouTube demonstrate the new Kase 77mm close-up lens. I bought it and found it works just as well as my old Canon 500D, including the same magnification and working distance, all the way up to 400mm with outstanding image quality. Highly recommended if you want to get into macro photography and already have a zoom telephoto, even up to 400mm. I was paranoid about losing/damaging the old Canon 500D but now there's an excellent replacement option.
