Lens Features
Two AF-L buttons are available to be programmed based on your shooting needs.

A zoom lock switch prevents the lens from accidentally extending.

The lockable aperture ring with click/de-click function enables smooth adjustments and prevents unintentional value changes.

Optical Design
Two F Low Dispersion (FLD) and one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements markedly reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range for improved clarity and color accuracy.

Five aspherical elements control spherical aberrations and distortion for increased sharpness and accurate rendering.

A water- and oil-repellant coating is applied to the front lens element to minimize any liquids from sticking to the glass.

Additional Lens Benefits
  • Lens construction: 18 elements in 13 groups.
  • Lens weight is approximately 2 lb. The lens barrel near the mount is made of magnesium instead of aluminum, contributing to its lightweight design and allowing users to shoot longer without fatigue.
  • 82mm filter thread for wide compatibility.

Wedding Video Cheat Code

I forced myself to only use this lens on me for a wedding videoshoot instead of my normal 24mm, 50mm, 85mm primes and I was blown away with how versatile this lens is on its own. I was able to get everything I needed without having to switch lenses. Being super light and quick like photographers was always the challenge for me and Im sure for a lot of other wedding videographers out there. I believe this lens replaced my prime setup as well as my 90mm Macro (this lens gets close enough for ring shots). If you shoot weddings 95-100% handheld like I do. I think you should give this lens a shot. If you're a gimbal only person, I suggest working out your biceps because while this lens isn't as heavy as Tamron's 35-150; attaching it to a gimbal will be very taxing on your arms.

Every need lens!

Does this lens have Macro capabilities?
Asked by: Connor
The Sigma 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens (L-Mount) has a macro reproduction ratio of 1:3.1. That will work well for a photo of a flower or similar sized item. It won't work for very small items like the head of a bee or an insect. For that you need a lens that is 1:2 or even better if it is 1:1.

Yes, the L-mount alliance of standards should allow the Sigma 28-105 mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens (L-Mount) to operate perfectly, allowing the lens to attach and function with the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K (Leica L). Please make sure you are working with the camera model listed below: Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K (Leica L), B&H # BLCC6K

Any insights on how if these would be a good city night time photography lens?
Asked by: Isoccer08
Yes, the Sigma 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens (Sony E) will work very well for city night time photos. The 2.8 aperture will offer very good quality in low light. Having the 28-105 zoom range will offer a lot of flexibility when framing. The only downside is the weight since the lens weighs 2.2 lbs.

would this lens work with the zoom controls on the sony fx6 handle?
Asked by: Gonzalo
No, the Sigma 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens (Sony E) is a manual zoom lens, so the zoom rocker on the FX6's control grip will not work. To use the zoom rocker, you need a power zoom lens like the Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS Full-Frame Power Zoom Lens, B&H # SO281354.
