Not so good on older TVs

Works fast on older Apple TV (HD) but tends to override the settings on my sound bar and jumps the volume up to max every time you switch inputs. Finally got the appleTV settings to accept an audio setting that doesn't allow that but resets to default when the TV is turned off. Still trying to find a solution that will last. Works great otherwise.

The brand-new Apple TV came with this remote control. The buttons for turning up and down the volume stopped working after five months. I reset the remote volume according to the instructions I found online, but this did not solve the issue. After restarting the Apple TV, I tried shaking my fist at it, switched power strips, and unplugged it for a while before turning it back on. Nothing. I'm fed up.
