I use this with the Octa Silver to moderate highlights and overall specularity. Its effect is subtle and most noticeable on skin tones - like where you would get a punchy highlight on the tip of a nose or a high lit forehead - compared to with the 1.0 diffuser set. I carry both the 1.0 and 1.5 because sometimes you want highlights to pop or you are trying to match the characteristics of sunlight - or to bring out some detail.
