This 1.0x Field Flattener from Starfield corrects and virtually eliminates the inherent spherical aberration at the edges of many curved lenses in refractor telescopes. Uncorrected, this aberration causes distortion in the field of view, often ruining astrophotography images. This flattener offers 38mm of clear aperture, which can be enlarged with the use of optional adapters. The optics on the field flattener are fully multicoated for optimal light transmission and its housing is made of anodized aluminum.
The flattener fits 2" focusers and is threaded for M42 T-ring camera adapters. An M48 thread on the telescope end allows for the use a light pollution filter.
