View and photograph deep-sky objects like galaxies and nebulae with the Newtonian 150mm f/4 Reflector Telescope from Starfield. This fast optical tube assembly features a BK7 glass primary mirror with dielectric and quartz coatings that is mounted in a cell with six collimating knobs and center marked for easy collimating with a laser. The design allows a nearly 2° diagonal field of view for a camera with an APS-C sensor, accommodating large objects such as the Andromeda galaxy or the Orion nebula.
The rigid linear-bearing 2" Crayford focuser can handle the weight of a DSLR or dedicated camera plus imaging accessories. The interior of the tube is matte black to reduce stray reflection. Felt-lined hinged rings won't mar the exterior and M6 screw holes allow you to add a second dovetail on top. A cooling fan for the primary mirror runs on eight AA batteries. The OTA is offered here without a tripod or mount head.
