Strings Masterclass
Expand the emotional depth and range of Synchron Duality Strings (regular) with a host of captivating and oftentimes quite unique virtuosic articulations, phrases, and loops by adding the Vienna Symphonic Library Synchron Duality Strings Virtuoso (Full Library) to your collection of Duality Strings Series libraries. Duality Strings Virtuoso comprises two string ensembles that were recorded at once, performing perfectly in tune with each other in separate rooms at Synchron Stage Vienna. The large ensemble was played in the huge main hall, Stage A, delivering a fuller, more symphonic sound. The smaller, chamber-sized ensemble was recorded with close mics in the relatively dry and intimate Stage B, the perfect place to zoom in on those meticulously recorded articulations. Use these ensembles separately, or blend them together as you like to spice things up and add definition and immediacy to your arrangements.
Engineers employed ten separate phase-coherent microphone configurations with dark and bright mic setups, recorded simultaneously with every nuanced detail. Using the included Vienna Synchron Player, morph your mixes from intimate to glorious or anything inbetween. Boost the principal players of your sections to provide a more direct sound. This 69.9GB Full Library comprises more than 140,459 samples.
Note: Software requires an iLok Account and iLok License Manager for license activation on a physical iLok 2 / iLok 3 key or in an iLok Cloud Session (the iLok Cloud requires a constant internet connection).
Virtuosic Articulations
- Martelé: a détaché with a sharp attack achieved by placing the full weight of the bow on the strings even before the bow stroke, and dampening the string by keeping the bow on the string after the stroke
- Ricochet: throwing the bow on the string so that it bounces and produces a series of rapid notes
- Saltando: playing rapidly in the middle of the bow so that the bow bounces very slightly off the string after every note.
- Short, medium and long crescendos and diminuendos
- Glissandos: the sliding of the finger on the string—normal/tremolo/saltando, very fast/very slow, up/down
- Chromatic Runs played legato and détaché a 5th/3rd/2nd up and down, also available as loops
- Rises and Falls: up and down slides at the end of short/détaché/sustained/cresc./dim. notes
- Arpeggios: major, minor, major 7th, minor 7th, augmented and 5th chords in various tempos, also available as loops
- Pizzicato arpeggios
- These articulations integrate with Synchron Duality Strings (regular version)
- Note: Synchron Duality Strings Virtuoso does not include double basses
