The extender kit includes an IR receiver and transmitter that extends the range of any device's IR remote control, so you can operate playback or source devices like a DVD or Blu-ray player from the front of an auditorium or a lectern, up to 230' away. Sturdy metal construction makes the 4K extender kit road-ready and perfect for transport and remote setups.

Extends HDMI Signal
The HDMI transmitter and receiver are connected with a lightweight and affordable Cat 5e/6 network patch cable that allows an HDMI signal to be transferred up to 230'. This economical solution replaces heavy and expensive HDMI cables with network patch cables. The EX-HDMI-4K allows high-quality video and audio signals to be run from an HDMI media device to a second monitor or TV, from the front to the back of an auditorium, or even between rooms and buildings.
High-Quality Video and Audio
The extender can transfer signals up to 4K60 (4:4:4) and supports HDR video, HDCP 2.2 and 1.4, and uncompressed audio as well as DTS and Dolby Digital. Running your signal over a Cat 5e/6 cable maintains signal quality without signal loss, latency, or interference.
Cat 6 Cable
Transferring an HDMI signal over a Cat 6 cable is what makes the EX-HDMI-4K an economical solution for live events, theater, meetings, and houses of worship. Instead of running hundreds of feet of expensive HDMI cables, signals are carried through inexpensive Cat 6 Ethernet cables.
IR Input and Blaster Cables
Ideal for home theaters, lectures, meetings, and presentations, this kit includes IR input and blaster cables. Control devices like a projector, DVD, or Blu-ray player remotely. Play, pause, fast forward, and rewind from up to 230' away.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
The EX-HDMI-4K kit only requires one of the units to be plugged into a power source. Once the transmitter and receiver are networked together, the Ethernet cable will carry video and audio signals as well as power. Whichever unit is closest to a power source is the one to plug in.

Kopul has an excellent reputation. I have used their microphone cables for years without any issues! So when I needed to produce a 3 camera shoot, I purchased the extender and 50 feet of cat 6 cable to link a cut in/cut away camera to a Black Magic ATEM switcher. I tested the extender before use and had no issues. At a dry run / rehearsal, the unit began sending green images. I contacted B&H and they shipped a new unit overnight! ( Thanks B&H! ) Once the second unit was in hand, I turned it on and let it run for over an hour. It worked flawlessly. Once on set, just before the production began, the new extender began sending a green image. I switched cameras. I switched the HDMI cable between the camera and the extender transmitter. I switched the cat six cable between the extender transmitter and the extender receiver. I switched the HDMI cable between the extender receiver and the ATEM switcher. The only thing I was not able to switch out was the power supply for the unit. None of the changes eliminated the green image. Kopul’s customer service representative has gone out of his way to helpful. They have sent me an RMA to send the second unit back to them and they have offered to refund the purchase price. Both B&H and Kopul /Gradus group have exceeded my expectations. I am uncertain what caused the green image. I hope then engineers can figure it out. Until then I can’t recommend this unit.

This Kopul 4k Extender Works Exactly As Advertised. I First Picked It Up To Connect A Camera Feed To A Monitor Across A Large Studio Space, And I Was Surprised At How Clean And Reliable The Signal Was. Even At 4K Resolution, I Did Not Notice Any Lag Or Drop In Quality, Which Is Impressive For Something Running Over A Simple Cat 6 Cable. The Setup Was Refreshingly Easy. I Particularly Love That You Only Have To Power One Side Of The Unit, And The Other Gets Power Right Through The Ethernet Line. That’s A Big Help When Outlets Are Limited, Like When Setting Up For An Event Or Working In Tight Spaces And It Makes Set-up Simple And Fast. The Included IR Controls Is Also A Nice Bonus Feature And Can Come In Handy. I Also Appreciate How Sturdy And Well-built Both The Transmitter And Receiver Feel. The Metal Housing Definitely Gives It A Professional, Road-ready Feel. The Overall Build Quality Feels Top-notch, And I Expect These To Last A Long Time If Treated Well. For Anyone Needing To Send A Clean Video Signal Over Distance, Whether For Live Events, Studio Environments, Classrooms, Or Even Home Theaters, This Kit Will Do The Job. In My Experience, It Just Works Without Any Fuss. I'm Very Impressed And Happy With It. [I Have Received This Product In Exchange For My Honest Review.]

Can a switch be added and additional Receivers be used for multiple monitors showing the same thing?

Yes, the Kopul EX-HDMl-4K 4K HDMI Extender can work with an HDMI splitter or switch before the transmitter to feed multiple receivers, but each additional monitor will require its own compatible receiver unit.
