i have 2 dsmc3 monitors and both of them eventually broke and required this new updated hinge. the hinge itself is more robust on the new design and is completely metal rather than plastic. the problem i have with this new design, is with the rod mount piece that attaches to the monitor itself. It attaches to the metal hinge fine, but it won’t attach to a standard 15mm rod. the size of the clamp is slightly larger than 15mm for some reason, so it will not tighten onto a 15mm rod if you want to mount your monitor somewhere else. i actually broke my second hinge mount attempting to tighten it onto a 15mm rod. i tried multiple different rods from multiple different manufacturers, the updated hinge mount is simply not actually 15mm. extremely annoying
