Compact, dustproof, and weather resistant, the Pentax AF180FG Flash is a simple, yet reliable auto flash for Pentax DSLR and Ricoh GR III series cameras. Just as the previous AF201FG model, this flash unit is compatible with Pentax's P-TTL system for automatic flash exposure, offering similar features with some updates, while keeping a simple, uncomplicated operation and the same compact and lightweight body. Users can choose from P-TTL auto flash with first or second curtain sync or use the manual mode for flash control at full or 1/4 power.
The AF180FG has a slightly lower guide number of 59' at ISO 100 or 82' at ISO 200. It offers a recycle time of 5-6 seconds and runs on two optional AAA batteries for approximately 100-130 flashes. One of the biggest benefits of this rugged flash unit is its completely protected dustproof body with 18 seals all around its structure, including the hot shoe. If you decide to shoot outdoors, you won't need to worry about harsh weather conditions, such as rain or mist. Pentax provides a carry case for transport and storage of the flash.
