Hired Best Buys Geek Squad to connect to my Older Pioneer AVR Receiver (with No HDMI-Arc) and connect to my New Sony smart TV (with HDMI Arc). After he made the connection, he took it out, said it just does not work. He then continued to connect my systems, got audio for all my components but was only able to get Picture on the Sony Blue ray player. Have a DVD, LD and two PAL DVD Players I would have loved to be able to use.

My older Denon with no ARC support now provides an excellent 7.1 sound experience that my new Samsung TV was unable to pass through via HDMI or optical. DVDO to the rescue. I simple use the TV as a display, do all my streaming through a ROKU hooked to the DVDO and then to the receiver and the ARC input on the TV. Perfect fidelity.
